'Rarely do children practise the simple art of sitting still in quiet reflection or exploring their imaginations; in a world where there seems to be a huge amount piled onto our young ones. With family issues, school work loads and pressures, peer group issues, growing and changing, the ability to find a calm place of quiet for reflection is a real asset.
Amongst the numerous wonderful benefits of meditation, is the development of concentration, since meditation is a form of quiet concentration. This has obvious natural applications within schools. Teachers and parents are often heard asking children to concentrate - but we seldom give opportunities to actually learn the art of concentration!
I have been overwhelmed with the fantastic feedback from children, teachers and parents alike and I look forward to bringing meditation into many more schools in the future!'
